Finnish wood products company Koskisen is launching the second phase of its Panel Industry investment program, allocating approximately Euro 7 million to modernize veneer processing. The investments, scheduled for installation during the July 2026 summer shutdown, target veneer composing, scarf-jointing, and hot pressing to enhance quality, yield, and automation, according to Panel Industry business director Tom-Peter Helenius.

This follows the completed first phase, where approximately Euro 12 million was invested in automating veneer drying, coating, and panel handling, all commissioned by the end of December 2025.

The full 2025–2027 investment program is designed to streamline production and increase the annual plywood production capacity from the current 65,000 m3 to 85,000 m3.

The Panel Industry business produces birch plywood for transport vehicles, interior applications, and furniture.
