Latvian Ventplac Increased Cargo Loading 22,5% in 2003
4. Latvian Ventplac reported trans-shipment was 632,449 thousand cub m in 2003, up 22,5% compared with the prior period in 2002. Round timber trans-shipment was 298,782 thousand cub m (-18,885 cub m), chips for pulp production - 269,599 thousand cub m (+96,585 cub m).

‘Round timber trans-shipment decline is due to the price growth’, company’s CEO Ayvar Bauda said. We also started peat trans-shipment in 2003 and it reached 37,068 thousand cub m this year.
Ventplac is a stevedoring company of Ventspils port specialized in timber trans-shipment.
