The state-owned enterprise Lesy ČR (Forests of the Czech Republic) has awarded 40 contracts totaling Euro 190 million to 13 forestry companies for work scheduled 2026-2030. The contracts cover forestry and cultivation activities, including timber sales, across 229,000 hectares of forest. The work is set to begin in January 2026, according to Lesy ČR.
The tender process involved the planned extraction of 5.4 million m3 of wood and the restoration of 6,600 hectares of forest over the five-year period. The work will focus on thinning middle-aged stands and general forest protection.
A total of 40 companies submitted 394 offers for the contracts, which were divided into 15 lots for logging and cultivation work and 25 lots that also included timber sales.
