Feb 13, 2006. /Lesprom Network/. M-real introduced new coated white top kraftliner Kemiart Ultra. The new Kemiart Ultra is a coated white top kraftliner with a superb combination of upgraded graphics quality in flexo postprint and high productivity in all stages of printing and converting processes, company said.
Kemiart Ultra’s unique surface allows for a far shorter ink drying time than conventional coated liners, hence it can handle higher ink volumes and higher printing speeds than coated linerboards usually. Furthermore, it will not be necessary to modify printing inks when moving from an uncoated substrate to Kemiart Ultra. Ultra’s advanced print definition properties combined with light-weighting potential of the corrugated material make it ideally suited for the retail sector increasingly specifying packaging, that is both easy to transport and that retains strong on-shelf consumer appeal.
“Printing a coated liner in one pass in flexo postprint on conventional presses hasn’t really been possible until now without productivity being seriously compromised”, says Juha Lounasvaara, Vice President Corrugated Case Materials. “We are already getting feedback from early Kemiart Ultra adopters of productivity improvements as high as 40 % over other coated liners. Ultra will redefine established standards of performance.”
