The Madison’s Lumber Prices Index decreased 2% to $435 per thousand board feet for the week ending December 05, 2025. This represents an $8 decline from the previous week’s price of $443. Compared to one month ago, the index has fallen 6%, or $29, from $464, according to Madison’s Lumber Reporter.

The index is calculated using the same species as lumber futures – including Western and Eastern Spruce-Pine-Fir, Douglas fir, and Hem-Fir – with weighted averages based on recent North American production volume ratios.
