The Madison’s Lumber Prices Index decreased 6% to $480 per thousand board feet for the week ending November 7, down $32 from the previous week’s price of $512.
Over the past month, the index has declined 8%, falling $43 from its level of $523 one month earlier. The index is calculated using a weighted average of species including Western and Eastern Spruce-Pine-Fir, Douglas Fir, and Hem-Fir, reflecting North American production volumes.
Weekly decline of $32 follows an 8% drop over the past month.
