The Madison’s Lumber Prices Index increased by 4% to $488 per thousand board feet for the week ending 16 January 2026. This marks a weekly gain of $17 from the previous week's price of $471, according to the weekly market report.
The current index price represents a significant increase of 12%, or $53, compared to its level from one month prior.
The index is calculated using a weighted average of key species, including Western and Eastern Spruce-Pine-Fir, Douglas fir, and Hem-Fir, based on recent North American production volumes.
