The Madison's Lumber Prices Index reached $518 per thousand board feet for the week ending 27 March 2026, marking a 1% increase from the previous week's level of $513. The index has gained 5%, or $23, over the past month from its level of $495 four weeks ago.
The index is constructed using the same species as lumber futures, including Western Spruce-Pine-Fir, Eastern Spruce-Pine-Fir, Douglas fir and Hem-Fir. Weighted averages are calculated based on North American production volume ratios from recent years.
