McMahon Group reduces operating loss to Euro 4.2 million

Nov 10, 2010. /Lesprom Network/. Ireland’s largest timber supplier, the McMahon Group, reduced its operating loss to Euro 4.2 million compared to Euro 7.8 million in 2009. The timber importing and builders merchant operation, part of Derevoya Holdings Ltd, also saw its sales nearly halved to Euro 77 million during the year, TTJ reported.
The Limerick-based business, which was founded in the 1830s and operates 13 branches, made 136 job cuts during the year – about a third of the workforce – helping to reduce losses.
Sales halved to Euro 77.2 million in last year.
The group had debts of Euro 70.3 million at the end of 2009 but was confident of meeting its obligations.
The McMahon Group operates 13 outlets around Ireland, including four in the North.
