Powers, chairman, president and chief executive officer of Hubbell, Inc., has been appointed to the company’s Board of Directors, effective January 24, 2006. At Hubbell, an international manufacturer of electrical and electronic products for commercial, industrial, residential, utility, and telecommunications markets, Mr. Powers was appointed as president and chief executive officer in 2001, and subsequently elected chairman of the Board of Directors in 2004. He joined Hubbell’s senior management in 1998 as senior vice president and chief financial officer. Prior to joining Hubbell, Mr. Powers held senior positions in finance and business development with ABB, Inc., and BBC Brown Boveri, Inc. “We are very pleased to welcome Tim to the MeadWestvaco board,” said John A. He holds a Master of Business Administration degree from John Carroll University and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Wittenburg University.
