Mellanskog, a Swedish forest owners’ association, is reducing timber prices for several product ranges starting February 11, and the changes apply to new contracts. The company said the decision comes against the backdrop of a continued weakened market situation and lower demand.
The basic price for pine timber is reduced by 80 SEK/m3fub, and the basic price for spruce timber is reduced by 30 SEK/m3fub. The basic price for pine and spruce small timber is reduced by 60 SEK/m3fub.
The basic price for pulpwood is reduced by 60 SEK/m3fub for softwood pulpwood and spruce pulpwood. The basic price for hardwood pulp is reduced by 60 SEK/m3fub for birch and aspen pulp.
The basic price for firewood is reduced by 60 SEK/m3fub. The basic price for gravel is reduced by 20-30 SEK/m3s.
