Metsä Fibre will begin change negotiations regarding potential temporary layoffs of up to 90 days at its Joutseno pulp mill in Finland, citing the uncertain market situation for pulp. The negotiations cover the entire mill personnel, approximately 170 employees, according to Metsä Fibre.

The move follows a production stoppage at the mill announced in early March, set to begin later this month.

Metsä Fibre, the pulp and sawmill business of Metsä Group, produces pulp, sawn timber and other bioproducts such as biochemicals and bioenergy from northern wood.
