Metsä Fibre will modernize the cooking system at its Kemi bioproduct mill in Finland, according to the technology supplier Andritz. The project is scheduled to start up during the Q4 2026, according to Metsa Fibre.
The modernization includes an unspecified upgrade to the continuous cooking process at the bioproduct mill. The system supports the mill’s planned production levels while increasing operational flexibility in raw material usage.
The cooking system serves the mill’s fiber line operations for producing bioproducts at the Kemi site. Metsä Fibre operates the facility as part of its Finnish production network.
CEO Ismo Nousiainen stated that the modernization will support availability and material efficiency at the mill. The project continues long-standing cooperation between the two companies.
