Metsaliitto Osuuskunta and Eurosib SPb-transportation systems signed long-term contract for logs transportation

May 24, 2007. /Lesprom Network/. Logistic operator may provide volume of transportation of up to 500 000 tonnes per annum. The contract came into force on May 1, 2007. The forest product will be removed from logging enterprises in northern-western region of Russia to wood-processing mills of Metsaliitto in Russia. In compliance with the contract concluded Eurosib offered Metsaliitto differentially decreasing rate. In 2006 Eurosib has removed about 3 million tonn of roundwood and 500 000 tonnes of pulpchips. Its market share in export transportation of timber in northern-western Russia was 20%. Eurosib is one of the largest private Russian transportation-logistics companies with industrial fleet of 10 500 cars. Eurosib turnover was $469.4 million in 2006.
