Mondi has formed a joint venture with PT Indocement Tunggal Prakarsa Tbk, one of Indonesia's largest cement producers, to expand its paper bags business in Southeast Asia. The joint venture, PT Mondi Indo Prakarsa Kemasan, will be located at Indocement's Cement Factory Complex in Citeureup, West Java, with Mondi holding a 60% ownership stake. The partnership was announced by Mondi's management.
Indocement will own the remaining 40% and serve as the anchor customer, providing long-term volume stability for the facility. The joint venture will add over 200 million paper bags annually to Mondi's global production footprint, with operations expected to begin toward the end of 2026.
Mondi plans to install an additional production line alongside existing equipment to support efficient operations and future expansion in the region.
