Erin Morris will take over as Administrator of the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) at the end of May, succeeding Bruce Summers, who is retiring after a 40-year career with USDA. Secretary of Agriculture Brooke Rollins praised Morris, a Texas A&M graduate, for her leadership, technical knowledge, and dedication to agriculture, noting she has earned the trust of her peers over 25 years at AMS.

Secretary Rollins also expressed gratitude to Summers for his four decades of service, crediting him with shaping AMS into a cornerstone of USDA’s mission.

AMS supports the fair, efficient, and transparent marketing of U.S. agricultural products. It provides services such as quality grading, auditing, and laboratory testing, operates the USDA Market News Service, and enforces fair trade practices in livestock, produce, and organic sectors. The agency also administers the Packers and Stockyards Act and manages the National Organic Program.
