Jan 12, 2012. /Lesprom Network/. UK timber company, National Hickman, has announced its expansion plans which will see 30 new jobs created. Based in Wolverhampton, the company has set out ambitious plans to triple its production of panelised roofs by April and this growth has led to a hoard of new roles within the company, as KMS Baltics reported.
The firm already employs 258 people across three sites in England and Scotland but it will be the Wolverhampton factory which benefits the most from the recruitment drive with staff already being snapped up for day and night roles.
The company's managing director, Mike Burlton, said: "Capital expenditure on new production lines that include precision multi-angled cross cuts, dimension saws and assembly jigs are all in place, and we intend to treble our existing production by April of this year by recruiting a workforce to total 30."
The company has a long history, having been established in the early 1900s as a family-run timber sawmill.
