National Lumber Company announced the acquisition of Fisher Lumber in Rockville, Maryland. The move expands National Lumber’s footprint in the Washington, DC metro area and reaffirms its position as a growing independent supplier.

Founded in 1919, National Lumber has been serving builders, remodelers, and contractors across Baltimore, Washington, and beyond for over a century. Following the acquisition, National will continue to serve Fisher Lumber’s longtime customers—as well as new customers—throughout the DC metro region, bringing expanded resources, delivery capabilities, and product access.

The Rockville location strengthens National Lumber’s ability to serve builders and remodelers across the DC metro area and marks another milestone in its growth as one of the last privately held, family-run lumber and building material suppliers in the region.

Following the acquisition, Fisher Lumber will be renamed National Lumber. National is excited to welcome Fisher’s longtime store manager, Tim Allen, along with the Fisher team, into the National family.

The transaction is expected to close October 1, 2025 with National Lumber opening for business immediately.

Founded in 1919 in Baltimore, National Lumber Company is a fifth-generation family business supplying lumber, building materials, millwork, windows, cabinetry, doors, and more to contractors, builders, remodelers, and homeowners across the Mid-Atlantic.
