When you start watching this video of the new Malwa Forest harvester in action, the first thing that will surprise you is the unusual silence in logging. You hear the birds singing, the crackling of branches, and only when the sound of a saw is heard, you understand that the machine is working.

At Elmia Wood trade fair in Sweden, Malwa Forest AB introduced Malwa Electric Combi, the world's first 100% electric harvester. So far, this is only a prototype developed as part of a research project on the initiative of RISE (Research Institutes of Sweden), the commercial product is still far away, says Mikael Herzberg, head of Marketing & Communications at Malwa Forest AB.

The next step is to test the machine and compare it with the diesel-powered counterpart, also in terms of energy consumption. At the moment, the logging machine presented at the fair can operate for about 2 hours on a single battery charge.
