Nov 05, 2012. /Lesprom Network/. Birmingham based Nicklin Transit Packaging is currently enjoying record levels of turnover following a GBP 500,000 ($793,524) investment programme over the last 3 years in its biomass, two-way pallet line and bespoke business management software. Turnover has reached almost GBP 7 million ($11 million) after a 40% increase over the past two years, with a further 15% increase predicted by May 2013, as the company said in a press release received by Lesprom Network.
David Nicklin, Managing Director of the bespoke timber and corrugated transit packaging specialists is confident that this aim will be reached, "Our organic growth over the last two years has been a fantastic result in a challenging climate; this is testament to our investment in operational capability, efficiency and people, coupled with our product and service offering- which is truly bespoke. Heritage plays a large part in our business; we are 100 years old next year, which in itself tells a story!”
The firm is driven by its environmental commitment. They have achieved ISO14001 Accreditation, FSC/PEFC Certification and were the first company in the UK to be awarded ISPM15 accreditation. This led to subsequent investment in biomass heating across the whole site. The green modification replaces gas and electric systems, eliminating waste, reducing energy costs and conserving their business and the environment for future generations.
To meet its customer demands and increased business, the firm has also invested in a bespoke Two-Way Pallet Line and Leg Machine in partnership with IMH of Sweden. This has led to the creation of 3 new jobs and an upsurge in productivity.
Joining the expanding workforce is a newly appointed in-house Business Analyst and an On-site Engineer. Both will work towards minimising downtime and waste whilst boosting operational efficiency.
Nicklin Transit Packaging has been trading since 1913 and is the UK’s longest established and experienced providers of bespoke timber and corrugated transit packaging products and services. The firm aspires to supply its customer base with the most cost-effective and environmentally and safest transit packaging solution available for their application.
