OrganoClick receives grant SEK 3.7 million for development of bio-based adhesives for nonwoven

OrganoClick has been granted SEK 3.7 million for the further development of the company's bio-based binder for nonwovens for hygiene and healthcare applications, company announced. The project is conducted in a Swedish-Finnish consortium with 3 players including binders manufacturer (OrganoClick), a nonwoven manufacturer and a product owner who produces the care and hygiene products for health care. The project is financed by the Swedish SIA BioInnovation - a joint effort by Vinnova, Formas and the Swedish Energy Agency, together with Business Finland for the Finnish parties.

The purpose of the project is to replace the plastic-based adhesives currently used in the nonwoven with OrganoClick biobased and biodegradable binders. During the project, binders will be adapted to the nonwoven used for various health and hygiene applications. Thereafter full scale production of nonwoven will be implemented followed by the production of health and hygiene products. The goal is that the finished product will be ready for market launch at the end of the project period.

The project will be carried out over 2.5 years starting in December 2019. The total project budget for all parties is about SEK 18 million, of which OrganoClick has been awarded a SEK 3.7 million.
