Panel Products closed plywood plant in Rogue River, Oregon
Jan 16, 2009. /Lesprom.com/. Panel Products has closed its plywood plant in Rogue River, Oregon, putting 125 employees out of work because demand for plywood is down, informed Lesprom Network according to the Associated Press.
Company President Jeff McLaughlin says operations slowed at the plant in recent months and the company will not consider reopening until the market improves.
In 2003, Panel Products bought a veneer drying plant in Rogue River from Louisiana-Pacific, and shifted plywood production from White City to Rogue River a year ago. Much of Panel Products' plywood was shipped mostly across the West Coast.
