Ponsse's consolidated net sales for the Q1 2023 amounted to Euro 201.7 million, which is 29.2% more than in the comparison period. International business operations accounted for 75.9% of net sales. Net sales were regionally distributed as follows: Northern Europe 42.4%, Central and Southern Europe 21.3%, North and South America 33.5% and other countries 2.8%.

The operating profit amounted to Euro 16.6 million. The operating profit equalled 8.2% of net sales for the period under review.

Order intake for the period totalled Euro 184.9 million, while period-end order books were valued at Euro 336.9 million.

President and CEO Juho Nummela said: “The forest machine market functioned well during the Q1. Demand for PONSSE forest machines picked up in the middle of the period under review, and the order intake totalled roughly Euro 185 million. At the end of the period, the company’s order books stood at Euro 336.9 million. Our net sales increased by approximately 29% to Euro 201.7 million. The fastest-growing business areas were new machine sales, maintenance services, and our technology company Epec. Our customers’ good business situation enabled our maintenance services to grow. Demand for used machines was also high. Epec experienced a strong market situation and a high demand for new products.”
