Producer prices for lumber and other wood products in Canada rose 1.7% in August 2025 compared to the same month in 2024, with the index increasing from 125.4 to 127.5. On a monthly basis, prices remained flat, showing no change from July 2025, according to data from Statistics Canada.
Pulp and paper products recorded a 5.3% year-on-year increase, with the index rising to 127.1 in August from 120.7 a year earlier. Compared to July’s figure of 127.6, prices for this category declined 0.4%.
Across all categories, the Industrial Product Price Index increased 4.0% year-on-year and 0.5% month-over-month. When excluding energy and petroleum products, the index rose 4.9% from August 2024.
