Jan 13, 2005. /Lesprom Network/. Russian Solombalsky pulp and paper enterprise (Arkhangelsk region) increased pulp production 6% to 230 thousand tons, corporate spokesperson told Lesprom.ru. Raw timber stores on the enterprise were estimated at 100 thousand cub m by December, 30 2004. In 2004 the enterprise finished the modernization of bark waste burning workshop and the waste reception facility. The project cost RUR 200 million. As a result the emissions by the heating plant-1 located on the territory of the enterprise reduced several times, while coal and mazut consumption dropped. More than 30% of the funds necessary for the fulfillment of the project were allocated by the World Bank. Minor modernization of Kamur boiling machines was also fulfilled. Solombalksy considered and approved the program of technical development of the enterprise for 2005-2010. The main steps outlined in the program include: the modernization of the ceramic cutting lathe (new electric filter was installed on the facility), which will allow to reduce sulphate emissions, as well as the acquisition of pulp washing equipment, that will save fuel, water and reduce poisonous waste dumping. The World Bank is ready to allocate additional credit funds for further modernization projects prepared by the enterprise. The amount of credit funds has not been disclosed. Solombalsky and the World Bank have been succesfully cooperating since 2000. In 2002 the sides signed an ageement on the allocation of WB credits for the needs of Solombalsky.
