Roseburg Forest Products has ceased operations at its veneer plant in Weed, California, consolidating production at upgraded mills in Oregon. The closure, effective 3 December 2025, follows the company's September 2025 decision to exit the hardwood plywood market, allowing it to focus resources on a more streamlined product portfolio.

The consolidation affects approximately 140 employees at the Weed facility, who will receive 60 days of compensation and healthcare coverage and are being encouraged to apply for positions at other company sites. Roseburg stated that recent investments in its Oregon mills in Riddle and Coquille have positioned them among the industry's most cost-competitive operations. The company will continue to operate the biomass power plant at the Weed site to fulfill existing renewable power contracts.
