Russian industrial output up 5.1% in Jan-Nov
Production slumped 1.9% in grain milling and formula feed, 2.2% in the power sector, 0.9% in forestry, and 10% in the medical industry. In other sectors, output was up 6.3%.
Dec 17 (Interfax) - Russian industrial production grew 5.1% year-on-year in the first eleven months of this year, the State Statistics Committee reported on Monday.
In November 2001 alone, industrial output was up 4.7% year-on-year (compared to 5.1% in October, 3.8% in September and 5.1% in August). Average daily production, seasonally adjusted, in November was unchanged from the previous month.
The greatest year-on-year growth in the eleven months was 110% in the biotech industry. Production also rose 25.8% in the printing industry, 10.9% in the glass, porcelain and earthenware industry, 10% in nonferrous metallurgy, 7.7% in engineering and metalwork, 6.1% in the food industry, 8.5% in chemicals and petrochemicals, 6.9% in the fuel industry, 5.9% in light industry, 2.4% in the iron and steel industry, and 4.5% for construction materials.
