Russia's Arkhangelsk pulp mill received first raft

May 18, 2009. /Lesprom Network/. On May 15, the log port of Arkhangelsk pulp and paper mill (Russia) received first raft with raw softwood which made up about 3,000 cubic meters of wood. As informed by the mill's press service on Friday, next rafts were expected in one or two days. During the shipping season, the plant is going to receive 113,000 cubic meters of softwood rafts by Severnaya Dvina river. This season, the enterprise decided not to use hardwood rafts due to its poorer quality and quite considerable losses in transportation. Arkhangelsk pulp and paper mill specializes in production of cardboard, carrierboard, market pulp, wood fiberboards, paper, and stationery. 63.5% of its shares belongs to Pulp Mill Holding GmbH (Austria), 33.6% - to offshore companies representing interests of Bazovyi Element LLC.
