Södra is raising the timber prices for pine and spruce by SEK 30 ($2.9) per solid cubic meter. Södra raises prices because there is still strong demand on the timber market. The need for wood is excepted to be high during the spring.

“It is gratifying that demand for family forestry's products remains high, albeit with a weaker price picture on the finished goods market. We are constantly working to strengthen the profitability of Södra's members' forest farms, and our timber prices are now at historically high levels. We assess that the high demand will continue during the spring and it is important to maintain a high rate of felling during the winter and spring in order to meet this,” says Peter Karlsson, business area manager for Södra Skog.

The following price adjustments apply from 19 January 2023:

· Standard timber of spruce and pine is increased by SEK 30 ($32.2) /m³ fub.

· The premium for hardwood fuelwood is included in the basic price. The basic price will be SEK 330/m3 fub for beech and oak and SEK 300 ($29.3) /m3 fub for fuel wood from other hardwood species.
