SCA supplied a total of 93.2 million seedlings during 2025, with 49.2 million delivered to private forest owners and the remainder planted in the company's own forests. The volume represents approximately one-quarter of all seedlings planted in Swedish forests, according to SCA.
Pine seedlings constituted 55.8 million of the total, while spruce accounted for 27.5 million. A further 3.6 million frozen seedlings were delivered directly to landowners. The annual total was slightly below the typical volume of around 100 million, which SCA attributed to a reduced plan for lodgepole pine after dialogue with the reindeer husbandry industry and weather-related planting delays. The company also completed a climate initiative by phasing out styrofoam beads in seedling trays in favor of sawdust.
SCA anticipates delivering just under 100 million seedlings in 2026. The company reports that storm Johannes is not expected to impact this year's deliveries but may influence volumes ahead of 2027. A new webshop for seedlings is scheduled to launch in the Q1 2026.
