SFPA: Southern pine lumber exports up 9% in September 2014
Southern Pine exports were approximately 45.65 million board feet (MMbf) during September 2014. This volume represents an increase of 9% above the same month last year, and a solid year-to-date boost of 21% when compared with the first nine months of 2013.

during September 2014. This volume represents an increase of 9% above the same
month last year, and a solid year-to-date boost of 21% when compared with the
first nine months of 2013. Offshore shipments during September roughly break
down as follows: 23.6 MMbf dressed, 6.1 MMbf rough, and 16 MMbf treated lumber,
as the Southern Forest Products Association said in the press release received
by Lesprom Network.
Softwood lumber imports to the U.S. during September
were just over one billion board feet, up 19% from the volume imported during
September of 2013. Year-to-date softwood imports are up 10% when compared with
last year. As usual, Canada shipped the lion’s
share into the U.S. during September.
