SRS Distribution has acquired Sider Lumber & Supply Co., a wholesale distributor of lumber, decking, roofing, siding, windows and doors based in Nesconset, New York. The 75-year-old company, founded in 1948, will continue operations with Joe Sider, a third-generation owner, leading the business following the transaction. Terms were not disclosed, according to SRS Distribution.
Frank Sider, the second-generation owner, plans to retire upon closing. Sider Lumber currently employs a team of 18 people serving the Long Island region. The acquisition adds a long-established player in the lumber and building products sector to SRS Distribution's expanding portfolio.
SRS Distribution, founded in 2008 and headquartered in McKinney, Texas, has grown to become one of the largest building products distributors in the United States.
