The Saica Group has expanded its paper and packaging recovery network in Spain through the acquisition of the paper and corrugated board recovery business of FCC Ámbito. The transaction, executed by the group’s division Saica Natur, adds seven facilities in Madrid, Cáceres, Valladolid, Asturias, Vizcaya, León and Toledo to its operations. The acquired business reported a turnover of Euro 33 million in 2024, according to the Saica Group.
The move integrates over 150 employees and strengthens Saica Natur’s presence in the Iberian Peninsula. Following the acquisition, Saica Natur now operates 47 plants across Spain, France, Portugal, the United Kingdom and Poland, with a total workforce exceeding 1,700 employees. The acquired operations primarily focus on the recovery of paper, cardboard and other non-hazardous industrial and commercial waste.
