Saica Group has agreed to acquire Thimm Group, a German corrugated packaging and display solutions provider, in a transaction that will see the Thimm family fully exit the business. The decision follows the Thimm family's assessment that only a small number of large players will gain market share in a highly competitive European market.

Thimm Group generated approximately Euro 539 million in revenue in 2024 with around 2,500 employees. Saica Group, headquartered in Zaragoza, reported revenue of approximately Euro 3.96 billion in 2025 with more than 12,000 employees. The two family-owned companies have maintained a partnership since the late 1990s, including a strategic sales alliance and a joint venture in Poland.

Saica operates 112 sites across Western Europe, Poland and the United States, while Thimm's operations are located in Germany and Eastern Europe. Saica intends to continue operating the acquired business within existing structures to ensure continuity for customers and employees.

The transaction remains subject to approval by relevant antitrust authorities, and the parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price.
