Seras invested GBP 3.25 million ($4.4 million) in its Tilbury waste wood processing facility during a temporary shutdown in late 2025, leading to improved efficiencies across the entire processing operation in 2026. The upgrades included new shredding equipment, a new screw conveyor, and refurbishment of other line components, according to Seras.

The improvements have delivered enhanced fuel quality, increased reliability, shorter downtime, and greater fuel output for power plant customers. Since the Tilbury plant began operations, Seras has processed over 1.6 million tonnes of grade C waste wood at the site, removing ferrous and non-ferrous metals, plastics, and light material. The shredded material serves as biomass fuel for power plants across the UK. Annually, the company keeps over 1.2 million tonnes of waste wood out of landfill.

Seras provides waste management services to more than 350 customers across the UK.
