Aug 31, 2005. /Lesprom Network/. After four years of collecting dust, the old Skeena Cellulose sawmill in Terrace began processing fibre. The Terrace Lumber Company, which acquired the mill through the sale that followed the bankruptcy of New Skeena Forest Products, has 70 employees working one eight-hour shift a day, with a second shift planned to start some time next year. It is expected to produce 700 cubic metres of timber per shift. The company is working with aboriginal partners who are supplying timber from throughout the region. The first shipments from the company will begin in September.
