Slovenia pulpwood purchase value jumps 17% as total roundwood rises 5.5% in January

The total value of roundwood purchased from Slovenian private forests increased 5.5% in January compared to the same month last year, driven by gains across multiple categories. The value of sawlogs and veneer logs rose 4.8%, with coniferous logs recording the most substantial increase within that segment, according to the Statistical Office of the Republic of Slovenia.

Pulpwood values climbed 17.1% year-over-year, while fuel wood values increased 2.6%. Other industrial roundwood was the only category to decline, with its value falling 4.6% from January of the previous year.

On a month-over-month basis, total roundwood purchase value decreased 0.2% from December. Fuel wood saw the sharpest monthly drop at 39.5%, followed by other industrial roundwood down 9.6% and pulpwood down 1.2%. Sawlogs and veneer logs were the sole category to post a monthly increase, with values rising 1.8%.
