Softwood lumber producer price index rises 2% in June

In June 2025, the softwood lumber Producer Price Index (PPI) rises by 2%, as reported by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. The hardwood lumber PPI decreases slightly by 0.2%, reversing a 0.2% rise in May.

The millwork PPI increases by 0.2%, matching its May growth. Conversely, plywood PPI falls by 0.7%, reversing its previous month's gain of 0.2%. The softwood veneer and plywood PPI also declines by 0.9%, after rising by 0.2% in May.

Overall, the Producer Price Index for final demand remains unchanged in June, following a 0.3% rise in May. Final demand goods prices increase 0.3%, balancing a 0.1% decline in final demand services. The index for final demand, excluding foods, energy, and trade services, remains stable in June after a modest 0.1% increase in May, rising 2.5% over the previous 12 months.
