Sojitz Corporation has acquired 95.24% of issued common shares in Saigon Paper Corporation (“SGP), one of Vietnam’s largest paper manufacturers. This acquisition marks Sojitz’s entrance into Vietnam’s household paper and containerboard manufacturing business, as the company says in the press release received by Lesprom Network.
Sojitz has a long history of contributing to Vietnam’s development in various business sectors such as afforestation and farming, manufacturing, and consumer goods. Capitalizing on its experience in Vietnam and international business know-how, Sojitz will work to strengthen SGP’s manufacturing infrastructure for household paper and containerboard to meet the increasing demand for paper products in Vietnam as the country modernizes, enhancing the lives of Vietnamese consumers.
