Some Canfor employees are returning to work today in Mackenzie, B.C.

Jul 21, 2009. /Lesprom Network/. Some workers have returned to their jobs at Canfor's sawmill in Mackenzie, British Columbia, as reported by ForestTalk. Canfor Vice President Manufacturing, Mark Feldinger says 60 workers and ten staff have been undergoing safety training since July 2nd. “We are running a lean operating crew and we have been bringing people back up to speed on safety.” One shift will begin the operations at the sawmill today, producing value added products like MSR (machine stress related) lumber for trusses. It is not yet known if the mill will be able to expand its operations this fall. Feldinger says that will depend on the mill meeting certain performance levels in costs and efficiencies.
