Sonoco Products Company will implement a $70 per ton price increase for all grades of uncoated recycled paperboard in the United States and Canada, effective with shipments beginning 3 April 2026. The company attributed the change to tightening market conditions, increased mill utilization rates, and inflationary input costs.
Converted paperboard products, including tubes, cores, cones, partitions, and protective packaging, will also see an 8% price increase for shipments on and after 15 April 2026.
Taylor Lane, Vice President and General Manager of Industrial Paper Packaging North America, stated the company aims to maintain service quality while adjusting to current market dynamics.
