Jul 20, 2004. /Lesprom Network/ Spanish Europac specializing in cardboard production intends to increase sales 6%, net profits - up 10-15% in 2004, Reuters quoting chairman of the board Jose Miguel Isidro. According to Jose Miguel Isidro, the 1st quarter wasn’t favorable for the company, however in the 2nd quarter the situation improved and the company intends to boost profits through internal demand. ‘The 2nd quarter was far more favorable than the 1st one. We expect the sales to increase 6% by the end of the year.‘ Mr Isidro said in an interview to Cinco Dias daily. Meanwhile high oil prices, the new regulations demanding that the enterprises should reduce air emissions in line with the Kyoto protocol signed by Spain, may affect the financial results. Europac producing protective cardboard package reduced net profits 18.7% to EUR 11.1 million ($13.71 million) in 2003. ‘We have good opprtunities to provide a steady growth. We expect our paper production increase from 490 thousand tons at present to 790 thousand tons by 2006‘ he added.
