Spanish company Artes Graficas Nekar S.A., manufacturer of pharmaceutical packaging, is the newest member of the European alliance for pharmaceutical packaging Copapharm Europe SCRL, EUWID Pulp and Paper reported. The company was acquired in June 2006 for Euro 26 million by Madrid-based investment companies GED and EBN. In September 2007, GED and EBN paid Euro 34 million for packaging manufacturer Icesa Packaging. Since then, both packaging companies have been run by a common management. According to Copapharm Europe, Artes Graficas Nekar and Icesa Packaging each have an annual capacity of more than 500 million board packaging carton units per year.
