Stiga RM has commissioned a new birch plywood further-processing mill in Kuldīga, Latvia, a Euro 3.09 million investment covering 4,036 square meters. The facility will increase the value of the company's products by 50- 70% and enable precise milling, drilling, sawing, and a new type of lamination, according to Stiga RM.
The new mill represents an intermediate stage toward full-scale operations expected to begin next summer, with automated workstations from leading global equipment suppliers planned for installation. The company intends to expand its product portfolio with decorative and functional birch plywood products offering a range of colors and surface coatings.
Alongside the Kuldīga project, Stiga RM is also developing a Euro 92 million large-format birch plywood mill in Ogre and operates a wood wool cement board factory in Tukums following a Euro 34 million investment.
Stiga RM is a family-owned company from Tukums, founded in 1994, and is currently one of the leading companies in the timber industry in Latvia.
