Suzano’s new pulp mill in Ribas do Rio Pardo, Brazil, has achieved its nominal production capacity of 2.55 million metric tons of bleached pulp per year within one year of start-up, according to the technology supplier Andritz. The facility was delivered on an EPCC basis and incorporates a complete fiber line and chemical recovery complex, including gasification plants.

The mill reached its full capacity after a three-month stabilization period, setting a new industry benchmark for ramp-up speed. The plant includes a SulfoLoop sulfuric acid plant that processes concentrated odorous gases and elemental sulfur to produce commercial-grade sulfuric acid, making the facility fully self-sufficient in this key input. An advanced automation and digitalization package features Andritz Smart Series analyzers, condition and vision monitoring systems, robotics, and Metris digital solutions for process control and optimization.

The produced bleached pulp is supplied to the global market. The mill's integrated systems are designed to operate with high resource efficiency.
