Roundwood prices in Sweden have seen a notable increase in the first quarter of 2024, according to the latest data from the Swedish Forest Agency. Prices for delivery timber, including both sawlog and pulpwood, rose in comparison to the fourth quarter of 2023, with sawlog prices jumping by 8% and pulpwood by 3%.

The most significant regional increase for sawlog prices was recorded in Södra Norrland, where prices surged by 9%. This was closely followed by an 8% rise in Svealand, while Götaland and Norra Norrland saw increases of nearly 6% and 4%, respectively.

Pulpwood prices also showed upward movement, particularly in Södra Norrland and Götaland, both witnessing a 4% rise. Smaller increases were seen in Norra Norrland and Svealand, at 1% and nearly 2% respectively.
