Swedish stock volumes of roundwood and wood chips decreased by 9%

Nov 26, 2015. /Lesprom Network/. The total stocks of coniferous sawlogs, pulpwood and wood chips in Sweden is estimated to amount 7.6 million m³ (cubic metres solid volume excluding bark) as at 30 September 2015. This is a decline by 9% compared with the same time frame as last year, the Swedish Forest Agency said in the press release received by Lesprom Network.

Stock volumes of coniferous sawlogs in Sweden is estimated to amount 2.8 million m³. Compared with same time frame as last year this is a decrease by 14%. The stock volumes of coniferous sawlogs declined in all wood balance regions with the exception of region 2, where it increased by 4%.

The total stocks of pulpwood amounted to 4 million m³ as at 30 September 2015 which is a fall by 3%, compared to the same time frame of the year before. As per assortment pulpwood stocks was: 2.5 million m³ of mixed coniferous, 0.7 million m³ of spruce and 0.8 million m³ of broadleaved. Pulpwood of spruce increased by 63%.

The stock volumes of wood chips is estimated to amount 0.7 million m³. This is a decline by 21% compared to 30 September 2014.
