The Price Companies plans to install a new debarking and chipping line at one of its operations in Georgia, USA, to increase wood handling capacity and support increased wood chip supply. The line is scheduled to start up during the fourth quarter of 2027, based on an announcement by Valmet, the supplier of the equipment.
The line is designed for a capacity of 425 tonnes of roundwood per hour. The scope includes a powered infeed conveyor, a Trunnion design debarking drum, a Carthage™ disc chipper, and belt conveyors, covering wood handling from log infeed to high-quality chips.
The system is designed for tree-length logs and is intended to deliver consistent chip quality with low wood losses and reliable operation.
