UFP Industries announces a $77 million investment to develop a new Deckorators facility on a 30-acre site in Lackawanna, New York. The project includes 240,000 square feet of manufacturing and warehousing space and marks Deckorators’ first production site in the Northeast. The plant will be operational by the end of 2025 and is expected to double the production capacity of Deckorators’ Surestone composite decking product, according to UFP Industries.

The new facility is part of a $250 million five-year plan to expand the Deckorators product line. The site will generate around 60 jobs, including roles in production, logistics, and administration. Approval for tax incentives from the Erie County Industrial Development Association was granted in March 2025. Construction begins in April.

Deckorators has grown its retail presence to 1,500 locations nationwide. The company’s Surestone technology uses a mineral-based composite instead of traditional wood-plastic blends, offering higher durability and better thermal resistance. The brand also expanded its market presence at the International Business Show and through a new PGA TOUR partnership.
