UPM Plywood has concluded its change negotiations in Finland, leading to the reduction of 9 positions out of approximately 100 senior salaried employees and directors. The negotiations, which began in April, involved UPM Plywood’s business organization, business functions, and global functions within the country. The company also confirmed changes to work organization, job descriptions, and job locations across the unit as part of the outcome.
The process aimed to safeguard competitiveness in a challenging operating environment by improving operational efficiency and profitability. UPM also plans to use the organizational restructuring to support renewal efforts and to provide opportunities for job rotation and skills development. UPM will offer change security services and training to support the re-employment of those affected, according to UPM.
